Ladies, the time is upon us…The time when we get to give & receive the little gifts that grow in little pint sized milk cartons, the gifts that smell like glue, & drop glitter for days…Y’all know what time I’m talkin’ ‘bout…Mother’s Day is coming!
Something about Mother’s Day makes me a little nostalgic. Maybe it’s remembering all the clay ashtrays (yeah! I’m that old 😂) we made in art class, the construction paper cards, or just the excitement on my moms face when she opened yet another ashtray. Though she didn’t smoke she seemed to love each & every one of them.
This nostalgia got me questioning why we ever stopped doing such a great thing. Why did we suddenly think ours moms would like a store bought card more than a homemade one? As a mom, I’d love it if my adult daughter made me an ashtray (I don’t smoke either…but y’all get the picture 😉), rather than frantically trying to figure out yet another chachki to buy me.
All of this questioning & my daughter’s need to save time & money actually lead us to a fun Mother’s Day tradition. Now, not only do I still get a present that smells like glue, but so does my mom, mother-in-law, & my daughter’s grandma’s…All while we build memories together.
I hope y’all like a good craft project, cause we gotta cute one in this issue. Not to mention that our take on this simple child friendly craft can be given as a Mother’s Day gift.
I won’t bore y’all anymore yammerin’ on & on about memory lane, just hop on over to our YouTube Channel for step-by-step directions, supply lists, & some silly mother-daughter antics, while we create Paper Bag Garden Journals for all our Mama’s.
