The action of anticipating something; expectation or prediction
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope… Psalm 130:5
If you connect this definition & scripture, you’ll quickly see that there is so much more to the word Anticipation than you ever expected.
A lot of times we assume that anticipation & waiting are the same thing. When in fact; if we’re anticipating something, we’re actually in a state of hope & excitement. Combine that hope & excitement with God’s Word & you’re actually predicting that something good is in your future.
Let me explain: Think of Anticipation as being pregnant, but instead of a baby it’s a hope or a dream. Now, treat that hope or dream like a woman expecting a baby. You see, a woman expecting is excited for, plans for, & even prepares for the arrival of that baby. This means sh’e DOING anticipation & not just waiting. And the best part is, she’ll be fully prepared for that baby once it arrives.
Sometimes we’re afraid to anticipate something good because we’re not sure we can endure the “waiting period”, this week I challenge you to DO anticipation. Don’t just sit around, daydreaming about your dream, start taking small actions to move you toward it.
I promise…the thing you’re hoping for, dreaming for…anticipating will arrive before you know it…Right on time 🕊
